"COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS"
ABOUT HYPNOSIS

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is a perfectly natural, normal state of mind. It is simply a slower brain wave state characterized by extraordinary mental and physical relaxation in which the doorway to the subconscious mind opens.

WHAT IF I CANNOT BE HYPNOTIZED?
Everyone who has normal mental functioning can be hypnotized. Hypnosis is simply a relaxation process. In fact, every healthy individual goes into and out of the same brain wave you are in while hypnotized each and every day.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE HYPNOTIZED?
Hypnosis is always accompanied by an extraordinary sense of physical relaxation. Every muscle in your body becomes pleasantly relaxed and all tension disappears. However, your mind is quite aware of what is taking place. In fact, your mind is in an expanded state of awareness. Most people find the experience extremely pleasant.

CAN I BE MADE TO DO SOMETHING AGAINST MY WILL WHILE IN HYPNOSIS?
You maintain the ability to reject any suggestion given to you while in hypnosis. No one can make you do something against your will. You are always in control of the hypnotic process, and you are always in control of your own mind and body. The hypnotherapist is simply a facilitator.

CAN I GET "STUCK" IN HYPNOSIS?
No. Absolutely, positively, never! Remember: Hypnosis is a perfectly natural, normal state of mind that every healthy individual goes into and out of several times throughout the day. It is a part of our natural brain wave cycle, as are sleep and fully conscious brain states.

WILL I BE UNCONSCIOUS WHILE IN HYPNOSIS?
No. You are consciously aware of everything that is taking place while in hypnosis. You are simply in a dual state of mind where the subconscious and conscious minds overlap. Rather than loosing conscious control, you are actually in an expanded state of awareness.
